Tournaments that count for Elo 9

These are the events whose games go to a rating list. The long-play internationals make up the core: the two Valencia Cuna del Ajedrez opens in July, the Vila de Benimaclet open in June, the Villa de Mislata in August and the Christmas open at La Petxina, each played at ninety minutes plus an increment. The Ciudad de Silla international and the Sub 2400 of Burjassot use a shorter classical control and are limited to players below a rating ceiling.

Faster events are rated too: the Nuevo Centro rapid open is on this list, and so is the women's blitz La Dama del Ajedrez for the editions on record. Rated events usually ask for a federation licence and for entry before a deadline; the bases of each tournament say what applies, and they are the page to read before booking a week of holiday around an open.
